MultiFlo Multimode Dispenser

The MultiFlo FX is an automated multimode reagent dispenser for 6- to 1536-well microplates. The system incorporates several unique technologies in its modular design, such as Parallel Dispense, random access dispense (RAD) and patented Automated Media Exchange (AMX) modules. It can be controlled by PC or directly via touch screen and allows volume dispensing from 1 µl to 10 µl.

A fully configured MultiFlo FX replaces up to five liquid handlers, saving space, time, and instrumentation budgets, delivering complete workflow automation in cell imaging and biochemical applications.

In our case, we use the instrument to add CellTiter Glo 2.0 to 384-well cell culture plates including cells with drugs or ATP standard in various dilutions for ATP measurements. Integrated in our semi-automated screening system, it has many advantages:

· Time saving: It needs only seconds to add a reagent to a 384-well plate, which otherwise would take minutes by hand pipetting

· Precision: Forgoing quality controls grant precise dispensing of the reagent, thus a minimum of end volume deviation between the wells, which would be difficult to achieve by hand pipetting

· Safety: No spillage danger or any other handling dangers with drug plate can occur, as it is carried out by the semi-automated system
